If you have dived Wreck Alley, off of Cooper Island, you may recognize the Beata in these pictures! Back in the early 2000s Blue Water Divers, British Virgin Islands and Husky Salvage and Towing came together to donate their time, labour and materials to sink a number of the vessels that now make up Wreck Alley.
https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=432329179317146&set=p.43232917931714 Our crew responded quickly and kept the vessel from becoming an environmental disaster at The Baths. It’s now secured and thanks to Nanny Cay Boatyard, it will be hauled out tomorrow on a public holiday. Thank you to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour for providing us with protected water from the seas, enabling us to finish our work. Also thank you to VISAR for their usual quick communication and coordination, helping us to respond promptly. VISAR Husky Salvage and Towing Nanny Cay Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour

Another busy day on the water! A 54′ sailing vessel went aground near Oil Nut Bay in the late afternoon. There were quite a few yacht tenders who attempted to remove it, but they were unsuccessful. Husky Salvage arrived just before dark and were able to remove the boat from the reef, as well as keep it afloat as it began to sink after the ungrounding. It was salvaged before it had a chance to break up and damage the environment. It was safely towed to @nannycay where the staff was waiting to remove it from the water. #huskysalvage #marineassistance #emergency #emergencyresponse #emergencypreparedness #marinetow #britishvirginislands #virgingorda #savethereef #tortola #tortolabritishvirginislands #tortolabvi #salvage #vesselsalvage #husky #northsound #oilnutbay #nannycay
